Australia begins evacuation of nationals from Lebanon through Cyprus

On Saturday, Australia initiated the evacuation of its nationals from Lebanon via Cyprus, marking the first large-scale operation to repatriate citizens, reported Reuters.

Approximately 229 individuals arrived on the eastern Mediterranean island, located a 40-minute flight from Beirut, aboard a commercial airline chartered by Australia.

A second flight is planned for later in the day, with more evacuation flights anticipated based on demand, according to Australian and Cypriot officials.
