Live blog update| Israel's war on Gaza

Evening recap

Our live coverage will shortly be closing until tomorrow morning.

Here are some of the day's key developments:

Israeli air strikes killed at least 50 Palestinians across Gaza on Sunday, the Palestinian Civil Defence announced. Five of them were journalists, most of whom were killed in Al-Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza.

The Lebanese Health Ministry has updated the death toll from Israel's attacks to 2,672, with another 12,468 wounded since 8 October, 2023.

An investigation by the Associated Press published on Sunday shows some damage to two military sites in Iran as a result of Israel's attacks on Saturday. The AP analyzed satellite images of the Parchin Military Complex and the Khojir Military Base, both southeast of the capital Tehran.

Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi confirmed on Sunday a proposal presented in Doha that involves a two-day ceasefire in Gaza and the release of four Israeli captives in exchange for an unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners. Spy chiefs from the US, Israel, and Egypt are meeting with Qatari officials in Doha in a bid to renew attempts at a temporary truce.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy says he held separate phone calls with his Israeli and Iranian counterparts on Sunday to urge them to avoid what could become a "catastrophic" regional war after Israel's strikes on Iran.
