A video purportedly showing Islamic State fighters calling on Bahrain's Sunni communities to revolt against and overthrow Bahrain's rulers, following the Gulf country's participation in the US-led coalition against the militants.
Fresh US-led strikes hit Islamic State group targets in Syria overnight, both in its Raqa province stronghold and in Aleppo province further west, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Monday.
In Aleppo province, the strikes hit targets around the IS-held town of Minbej, including a complex of grain silos and a mill that was being operated by civilians.
The strikes also hit a local IS headquarters between Minbej and the town of Jarabulus further north.
In Raqa province, strikes hit the outskirts of Raqa city, the de facto headquarters of IS in Syria, hitting at least one checkpoint belonging to the group.
The coalition also carried out strikes around the town of Tal Abyad, on the border with Turkey, hitting a local headquarters by IS militants.
The latest strikes came after the coalition struck the entrance of the country's main gas plant in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor in an apparent warning to IS militants to abandon the facility.
The plant is the largest in Syria and feeds a key power station in regime-held Homs province.
If it stopped functioning, several provinces, including Deir Ezzor, would be without electricity.
-US President Barack Obama told CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday that US intelligence ‘underestimated’ the opportunity that a collapsing Syria would provide for militants like Islamic State and al-Qaeda to regroup and stage a come back
-US-led anti-IS coalition air strikes hit the entrance and prayer area of Coneco, Syria’s largest gas plant which is located in Deir Ezzor, in an apparent warning to IS militants to abandon the premises under their control. Since seizing several oil fields in Syria last year, IS has reportedly been able to smuggle thousands of barrels of crude oil on to the black market to private buyers in Turkey and Iraq.
-Strikes over Sunday night also hit targets outside Raqqa city, IS’ de facto headquarters, as well as Minbej, east of Aleppo, where IS had gained access to grain silos
-On Sunday, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, the head of Al-Nusra Front, Syria’s al-Qaeda affiliate, added his voice to fellow Nusra members who spoke out over the weekend and said that if US-led air strikes continue against his group, it will “transfer the battle” to western countries.
