Middle East Eye launches French news website

MEE offers French speakers new website focused on MENA region
You can visit it at http://www.middleeasteye.net/fr

The news website Middle East Eye (MEE), which was launched mid-April 2014 and covers the whole MENA region, is launching a French section on Wednesday, ahead of the 2015 new year.

France is a major player in the MENA region and MEE regards a Francophone audience as vital part of the debate about the future of the Middle East.

French speakers also offer a different perspective on the issues in North Africa, and MEE is keen to host as wide a debate as possible.

"French is the second language of North Africa, and France has a historical legacy in the Middle East just as important as Britain's or America's," David Hearst, MEE's Editor in Chief said Wednesday.

"We hope the Middle East Eye can bring new perspectives to a Francophone audience throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa and bring more voices and fresh views to the table," he added.

The site can be accessed at: http://www.middleeasteye.net/fr
