Qatar World Cup 2022: Ranking the best and worst kits from the Middle East

The Qatar World Cup is finally here, and while there may be plenty that is different about this year's tournament, fans everywhere are hoping, as always, to see some incredible performances on the field.

With the world's eyes fixed on the competition for the next four weeks, we've dissected all five of the jerseys representing countries from the Middle East and North Africa.

The team at Middle East Eye ranked every kit from best to worst, and we had no idea which would come out on top.

Here's our list from number five to one:

5. Iran

Iran's kit came in last.

Made by local company Majid, both the home and away shirts have ditched the cheetah, which appeared in 2014 and 2018.

The animal's appearance was a way to raise awareness of Asiatic cheetahs, facing the threat of extinction.

While some argued the new kits were instant classics, there was a consensus in our newsroom that they were not creative enough and failed to reflect Iran's rich cultural heritage.
