400,000 more people in Gaza go without food in September, UN says

In September, 1.4 million Palestinians went without food in Gaza, 400,000 more than in August, according to the UN. 

"In the Gaza Strip, 1.4 million people did not receive food in September. They were 1 million in August," Unrwa said. 

The UN added that between 1-2 October, three Unrwa-run schools where people are sheltering were hit, with at least 21 people reportedly killed.

Around 86 percent of Unrwa schools in Gaza have been hit or damaged as of 6 September, the UN said.
