79 percent of mosques in Gaza flattened by Israeli strikes

The Israeli army has razed 814 of Gaza's 1,245 mosques and severely damaged 148 since October, the enclave's ministry of religious affairs said on Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry revealed that three churches had also been destroyed and 19 of its 60 cemeteries had been targeted by Israeli bombardment.

It estimated that Israeli forces caused $350 million worth of damage to the ministry's properties.

The ministry further accused Israeli forces of desecrating graves, exhuming bodies, and stealing and mutilating human remains.

It added that the Israeli army has killed 238 of its employees and detained 19 others during ground offensives in the territory.
