Good evening Middle East Eye readers,
Our live blog will now close for a few hours. Here's a recap of some of the key events from earlier today:
- A deadly Israeli attack on Beit Lahiya, a town in northern Gaza, killed at least 73 Palestinians and wounded over 100 others, according to Gaza's government media office. Israeli air strikes targeted a multi-floor building and damaged a number of nearby houses. Many people were missing under the rubble, with emergency teams struggling to reach them
- An Israeli air strike killed four water engineers in Gaza who had been working with an organisation partnered with Oxfam in Khan Younis. Oxfam said the movements of the men had been coordinated with Israeli authorities to ensure their safety, but they were still targeted by Israeli forces
- The US has apologised to Israel after alleged US defence department documents detailing Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran were leaked online. The documents were published by Middle East Spectator, a Telegram account, which said it received them from an American intelligence source
- A drone launched from Lebanon flew 70km to strike Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's house in Caesarea, northern Israel. Netanyahu and his family were not there, and there were no reports of casualties
- Israeli forces besieged and shelled the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, targeting its upper floors where over 40 patients and medical staff had been present
- An Israeli air strike on Baaloul, a town in Lebanon's western Beqaa Valley, killed four people and wounded at least 13 others. Israeli forces also attacked the southern suburbs of Beirut for the first time since Wednesday
- Israeli planes dropped leaflets over southern Gaza showing a picture of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's body, accompanied by a message saying: "Hamas will no longer rule Gaza"
- One person was killed and at least 14 others wounded after Hezbollah launched a series of rocket attacks on northern Israel
