Leaked documents allegedly show Israeli preparation for attack on Iran

The US has apologised to Israel after alleged US defence department documents detailing Israeli planning for a potential attack on Iran were leaked online.

The documents outline Israel's preparations for a response to Iran's long-range missile attack on 1 October.

Haaretz reported, citing an Israeli source, that Washington had apologised to Israel for the leak. The authenticity of the leak has not been confirmed.

The documents mention plans to arm Israeli planes with air launched ballistic missiles, and the concealment of fortified underground warplane bunkers at Israel's Hatzerim airbase.

The documents were published on Friday by Middle East Spectator, a Telegram account, which said it received them from an American intelligence source.
