Good morning, Middle East Eye readers,
Here is an update on this morning's events:
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran for a drone attack launched from Lebanon that struck his residence in northern Israel. Israeli media reported that unnamed diplomatic sources close to Netanyahu said that retaliation is expected.
- A deadly Israeli attack on Beit Lahia, a town in northern Gaza, killed at least 73 Palestinians and wounded over 100 others, according to Gaza's government media office. Israeli air strikes targeted a multistorey building, damaging several nearby houses. Many people remain trapped under the rubble and emergency teams are struggling to reach them.
- The US apologised to Israel after alleged Defense Department documents detailing Israeli preparations for an attack on Iran were leaked online.
- At least nine Palestinians were killed in an Israeli missile attack on al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza.
