The official spokesperson for the Houthis, Nasruddin Amer, described the Israeli airstrike on the oil tanks and power facility at Hodeidah port as "a brutal act of aggression against Yemen aimed at worsening the suffering of its people and pressuring Yemen to halt its support for Gaza."

In a post on X, Amer dismissed the strike as an "unrealistic Israeli fantasy" and asserted that it would only strengthen the Yemeni people's resolve and their support for Gaza.

He added, "The Yemeni people are prepared to confront any challenges in their fight for the oppressed Palestinian cause and the people of Gaza, whose struggle is the most just on earth."

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari claimed that Israeli fighter jets targeted military objectives in the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.

Israeli jets struck “military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the Hodeidah port area in Yemen,” claimed Hagari citing the attacks as a response to the numerous assaults against Israel in recent months.

Media in Yemen reported that the port's fuel tanks and power station were amongst the targets hit in the attack.

Israeli fighter jets carried out strikes on the Yemeni port city of al-Hudaydah, a senior Israeli official told the Walla news site, according to the Times of Israel.

Previously, a report from the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya had claimed that the attack was a collaborative effort involving Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

According to Al Arabiya, which cites unnamed sources, Israel, the US and the UK jointly conducted the strike on the fuel depot and oil refineries at Yemen's port of Hodeidah.

The report also mentions that 12 Israeli aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets, were involved in the attack.

The Houthi-run health ministry has blamed Israel for a series of strikes on a fuel depot in the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, adding that the strikes caused casualties.

“The Israeli enemy’s raids on oil storage facilities in the port of Hodeidah” have led to deaths and injuries, the health ministry said in a statement but did not specify a toll.

Israel has yet to comment on the strikes.

The Palestinian interior ministry has told residents in northern Gaza not to comply with Israeli orders to move to the south of the besieged enclave.

The ministry in Gaza said the Israeli military has used “psychological pressure” on Palestinians by sending thousands of voice messages and photos to their phones, asking them to evacuate south.

“[The Israeli military] is trying to deceive citizens by broadcasting pictures and scenes of displaced people passing through checkpoints, using an illusion that there is no inspection,” the ministry said.

“We warn citizens against the lies and deceit of the occupation.”

A Gaza hospital said Saturday that it saved a baby boy from his mother's womb after she died from wounds sustained in an Israeli strike, according to AFP.

Ola Adnan Harb al-Kurd, who was nine months pregnant, barely survived a punishing night of missile strikes in northern Gaza.

But by the time Kurd reached Al-Awda Hospital, she was "almost dead", said surgeon Akram Hussein.

Doctors were unable to save the mother, but performed an ultrasound that detected the baby's heartbeat.

They quickly staged an emergency cesarean section "and extracted the fetus," the surgeon told AFP.

The newborn was initially in critical condition, but after receiving oxygen and medical attention was stabilised, said Raed al-Saudi, head of the hospital's obstetrics and gynaecology department.

He was placed in an incubator and transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Kurd was among three women and a child killed by an Israeli missile fired on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to a medical official at Al-Awda Hospital. Her husband was also wounded in the strike on the family home.
