Israel will coordinate with Egypt on Palestinian refugees, the country's foreign minister said amid mounting concern that an Israeli offensive on Rafah will lead to forced displacement of Palestinians.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Israel Katz said Israel will find ways not to harm Egypt's interests but insisted that it has to deal with Rafah because it "can't just leave Hamas there".
"We have no intention to deport any Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip," he said.
When asked where refugees in Rafah would go, he suggested Gaza's second city Khan Yunis.
On Lebanon, the minister said that Israel will be forced to remove Hezbollah from the border if efforts to reach a diplomatic solution to ease tensions fail.
"The world must pressure Iran and Hezbollah to withdraw from south Lebanon and implement UN resolution 1701," Katz said.

An Israeli offensive in Rafah "could only lead to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster and would be a turning point in this conflict", French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday.
"I share the fears of Jordan and Egypt of a forced and massive displacement of the population," Macron added, speaking at the Elysee Palace alongside Jordan's King Abdullah II, who echoed the comments, saying the "catastrophic consequences" of such an offensive could not be accepted.

The German government has approved the deployment of armed forces in a European Union naval mission in the Red Sea to prevent Houthi attacks on Israel-linked ships there, a government spokesperson said.
“The ongoing escalation of violence and the threat to life and limb of the crews of ships, particularly in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, require a robustly equipped military operation,” the spokesperson said during a regular press conference in Berlin.
However, Germany's participation in the mission is awaiting parliamentary approval, with a vote slated for next Friday.
The Houthis have said their attacks on Israel-linked ships in the busy waterway are an act of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
France, Greece and Italy will also participate in the mission, dubbed Aspides, meaning predator.
The countries are mandated to intercept attacks, but not to target the Houthis with strikes on land.
The number of journalists killed in Gaza since 7 October has risen to 130 following the deaths of two reporters, according to the government media office.
In a statement on Telegram, the office named the two journalists as Zaid Abu Zayed and Yasser Mamdouh.

"It's worth noting that occupation tanks have been stationed at the hospital gates for two weeks, preventing the entry of any aid or logistical supplies," PRCS said.
A fifth patient has died at the Nasser hospital due to a power cut caused by an ongoing Israeli raid, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
The outage has severely restricted oxygen supplies.
The ministry previously reported that four patients has been killed during Israel's incursion on the medical complex, where thousands of patients, displaced people and medical staff are sheltering.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Friday it was trying to get access to Nasser hospital, where thousands of civilians are trapped amid ongoing raids by Israeli forces.
"There are still critically injured and sick patients that are inside the hospital,”" WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said.
"There is an urgent need to deliver fuel to ensure the continuation of the provision of life-saving services ... We are trying to get access because people who are still in Nasser Medical Complex need assistance."
The Israeli military said that the raids on the largest functioning hospital in Gaza were "precise and limited", claiming that they had detained dozens of "terrorists" without providing any evidence.
The UN's High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, said on Friday that a spillover of refugees from Gaza into Egypt's Sinai would be a "disaster for the Palestinians ... a disaster for Egypt and a disaster for the future of peace".
Grandi told Reuters at the Munich Security Conference that "the Egyptians said that people should be assisted inside Gaza and we are working on that".
Israel’s military intelligence has circulated a document to Israeli leaders this week warning that Hamas will survive as a "guerrilla group" even if the army succeeds in dismantling Hamas as an organised military force in Gaza, the Times of Israel reported.
The report states that “authentic support remains" for Hamas among Palestinians in Gaza.
Given that there is no working plan for the "day after" the war, the document warns, "Gaza will become an area in deep crisis".
Israeli leaders have said nothing short of an "absolute" victory over Hamas would suffice. In this regard, at least, Israel's military intelligence is suggesting that the country can't win.
