Palestinian political parties and resistance groups have rallied in the Gaza Strip in support of Hezbollah after the killing of two Israeli soldiers on Wednesday by Hezbollah rocket fire.

Numerous Palestinian groups, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) rallied in the Strip, often distributing sweets to followers, according to the Ma'an news agency.

"The resistance front from Lebanon to the Shebaa (Farms), to Quneitra and to Jerusalem and on to Gaza is a unified front, and any group targeted by the occupation will erupt (in response)," Islamic Jihad leader Khalid al-Batsh said at the event.

He added that Hezbollah had cornered Israel between two options through its attack on the soldiers at the border, forcing it to decide whether to remain silent or to respond and enter a full-on war.

"In either case," he added, "Netanyahu is risking his political future."
