Arabic press review: Egypt stops family visits for detainees after Morsi's death
Egypt denies family visits to detainees
Egypt's interior minister General Mahmoud Tawfik issued a new directive to deny family visits to detainees in the country's prisons, London-based newspaper Al-Arabi al-Jadeed reported.
Family members of the detainees came out against the decision and opposed a new directive to allow the general prosecution to renew the detention of inmates without the presence of the defendants or lawyers.
This latest set of directives came in the wake of the death of former president Mohamed Morsi, Al-Arabi al-Jadeed reported.
Sources close to Al-Arabi al-Jadeed said that prisoners were put in lockdown after Morsi's death over fears of a further backlash against the death of Egypt's deposed president.

The sources added that the prison lockdown will continue until media attention on Morsi's death ends to avoid any news of prison violations leaking.

Bahrain allows Israeli journalists to enter its territory
Bahrain has agreed to host six Israeli media delegations to cover next week's international conference on the Palestinian economy.
Using sources inside Tel Aviv, Al-Quds al Arabia reported that Bahrain had approved the hosting of Israeli delegations despite having no diplomatic ties to Israel.
Bahraini law stipulates that its citizens are banned from entering Israel.
Bahrain did not comment on the Israeli media delegations and denied claims that it is normalising relations with Israel.
