French President Hollande extends state of emergency

Hollande also vowed to increase French military efforts in Iraq and Syria
French President Francois Hollande spoke of 'solidarity' with the families of the victims of the attack in Nice (AFP)

"The driver was shot dead and at this point time we don’t know if there were any other accomplices," he added.

Hollande also called up 10,000 military reserves and gendarmes to help "relieve the police forces," particularly in keeping France's borders safe.

"France is afflicted but I assure you she is strong and she will always be stronger than the fanatics that want to strike her today."
