Gunmen seize Yemen president's chief of staff
Gunmen kidnapped Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi's chief of staff in Sana'a on Saturday, a source with the presidency said.
Two weeks after Houthis occupied Yemen's capital last October, Hadi named Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as prime minister , but he declined the post after the Houthis rejected his nomination.
Mubarak was reportedly seized on Saturday near a checkpoint in Hada, a southern district in San'a, while on his way to a ceremony related to the issuance of the new draft constitution.
Mubarak also serves as secretary general of the national dialogue on a political transition set up since the 2012 resignation of veteran president Ali Abdullah Saleh after a bloody year-long uprising.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. The Yemeni presidency is also yet to comment.
