Iraqi helicopter shot down by Islamic State

Islamic State militants have shot down an Iraqi helicopter

Islamic State militants  armed with a rocket launcher shot down an Iraqi helicopter in the north of the country, officials said.

The helicopter's pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash according to an official from Iraq's air force.

The incident comes as US envoy, General John Allen kicked off a visit to Iraq, during which he met with local leaders, including religious figures.
