Israeli forces kill Palestinian after alleged stabbing
Israeli security forces shot dead a Palestinian man in occupied East Jerusalem on Saturday, after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli civilian, Israeli police and Palestinian medics said.
Footage from the scene near Damascus Gate shows Israeli forces shooting at the Palestinian, identified as Mohammad Shawkat Salima, at least twice while he was already lying on the ground.
Media reports said Abu Salameh was a 25-year-old from Salfit, in the occupied West Bank.
In the wake of the killing, security forces closed off the entrances to the Old City, while clashes briefly erupted between Palestians and Israeli police at the scene.
