Israel forces kill Palestinian in Hebron after alleged stabbing
Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man after he allegedly stabbed a soldier near a settlement in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron on Friday.
According to the Israeli army, the suspect got out of a taxi near the settlement of Kiryat Arba and stabbed the 20-year-old trooper from behind, moderately wounding him. The soldier was then transferred to occupied Jerusalem for treatment.
The alleged attacker was shot by Israeli forces who then prevented Palestinian medics from reaching him, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
After the incident, soldiers used teargas and stun grenades to disperse Palestinian crowds near the scene.
More than 140 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire this year, including 49 killed in the Gaza Strip and more than 91 in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli forces wounded at least seven Palestinians during weekly protests against Israeli settlement expansion in the village of Kafr Qaddum, in the West Bank province of Qalqilya.
It came as dozens of Israeli settlers, led by far-right lawmaker Itamar Ben-Gvir, clashed with Palestinians at a rally in the village of Nabi Samuel in the West Bank, northwest of Jerusalem.
Palestinian residents of the village had staged a protest against movement restrictions imposed on them by the Israeli army and attacks by settlers.
More than 600,000 settlers live in over 200 settlements and outposts across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian territories are viewed as an illegal practice under international law that prohibits the transfer of an occupying power's civilian population to occupied territory.
