Israeli forces fatally shot a Palestinian man early on Wednesday during an army raid in the northern occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

Ahmad Massad, 18, from the village of Burqin, was pronounced dead after he was shot in the head, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said. Three other teenagers - one aged 19 and two aged 16 - were also wounded by Israeli troops. All three are in a stable condition.

The Israeli army said soldiers were confronted by a group of Palestinians after they arrested two men from Jenin. Dozens of people threw rocks, explosive devices and opened live fire, the army added.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, an active armed faction in Jenin, said in a statement that Massad was one of its members and that he had been killed "as he confronted the occupying forces".

The Palestinian foreign ministry condemned the killing, calling it an "execution crime".

During the early morning raid, the army also posted a demolition order on the family home of Raad Hazem, who killed three Israelis and wounded others in a shooting in Tel Aviv earlier this month.

Ten Palestinians were arrested in other raids across the West Bank on Wednesday morning.

Massad is the second man to be shot dead by Israeli forces in less than 24 hours, as the army ramps up operations across the West Bank, particularly in Jenin. Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat, 20, died on Tuesday after being shot in the head by Israeli forces during a raid near Jericho.

More than 10 Palestinians from Jenin have been fatally shot in the past month by Israeli soldiers, and over 50 have been killed this year across the West Bank.
