Palestinian driver shot dead after ramming five Israeli soldiers

Five soldiers were injured after a Palestinian man rammed them in his car by the Beit Ummar junction north of Hebron, the Israeli army said.

According to Israeli media, four soldiers were moderately injured and one suffered light injuries in the attack on Friday.

The Palestinian, identified as 19-year-old Omar al-Za'aqiq, was shot by Israeli forces on the scene and died of his wounds.

Protests broke out between residents of Beit Ummar and the Israeli army after the attack and shooting.

The incident follows an attack earlier on Friday, where 25-year-old Fadi Khasib was shot dead by an Israeli settler after running over two soldiers at a bus station near the settlement of Kfar Adumim.

The Israeli military said there was a "car ramming attack" that lightly injured two soldiers, who were then taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Centre in Jerusalem.

Fadi's his brother Shadi was shot dead by an Israeli settler last Sunday, also near the Kfar Adumim settlement.

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of October, the majority of whom were killed during attempted, alleged, and actual attacks on Israeli military and civilians.

In the same period, 19 Israelis have been killed in attacks.
