ERBIL, Iraq - Baharka Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp, on the outskirts of Erbil in northern Iraq, houses over 1100 displaced Iraqi families. However in one small corner of the camp, 18 Palestinian refugee families reside. Having fled the Nakba in 1948, these 18 families have been displaced again and again, moving from camp to camp.
Some of the Palestinian families have been displaced over five times during the past few decades. Most recently, these families fled their homes when the Islamic State took over their villages. Middle East Eye went to Baharka and spoke to these families about what it means to be a Palestinian refugee in Iraq and what they think their future might hold.
