Three killed after alleged attacks in West Bank and Jerusalem
Violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem killed at least three people on Friday after alleged attempts to run down and stab Israeli police officers.
In the West Bank town of Hebron, a youth who allegedly injured an Israeli soldier in a stabbing attack was shot dead on Friday afternoon.
Local news site Maan named the shot Palestinian as 16-year-old Alaa Sharif Abu Rajab.
Earlier in the day, police had shot a man and a woman accused of attempting to run down two people close to an Israeli settlement.
Police sources say the couple attempted to drive their Mitsubishi pick-up truck into two residents of the settlement, who are not thought to have been injured.
The man, named by Palestinian media as 18-year-old Faris Mohammed Khdour, was killed immediately.
Khdour's fiancee Raghad Abdullah Khdour, was injured.
Israeli media published images of the black truck, which carried Palestinian number plates, riddled with bullet holes and with its front crumpled after apparently smashing into roadside bollards.
In occupied East Jerusalem, police shot dead a Jordanian man after he attempted to stab an officer in occupied East Jerusalem, police said.
A police statement said a "terrorist" had been shot dead by an officer after he attempted to stab her.
No police officers or civilians were injured.
The dead man was a 28-year-old Palestinian who held a Jordanian passport and had crossed over from Jordan on Thursday.
The incident took place at the Damascus Gate entrance to Jerusalem's tourist-heavy Old City, the main entrance for Palestinians.
Damascus Gate has been the site of multiple attacks and attempted attacks targeting police and other security forces since a wave of violence erupted in October 2015, with several Israelis and at least 10 Palestinians killed there.
Violence across the Palestinian territories since last October has killed at least 226 Palestinians, 34 Israelis, two Americans, one Eritrean and a Sudanese.
Israeli forces say most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks.
Others were shot dead during protests and clashes.
