Egypt's elections may be marred in contoversy from low turnout to electoral fraud, but spirits were high in the two main campaign camps. Supporters of former field marshal Abdel Fattah Sisi, who spoke to Middle East Eye in the streets and polling stations largely expressed hope that Sisi would bring security and stability to Egypt.

Supporters of Sisi's main challenger Hamdeen Sabahi meanwhile, tended to focus more on issues of social justice, rule of law, and socio-economic issues.
