WATCH: Palestine International Festival 2016

For the first time since 1993 the music festival makes its way to Gaza

The Palestine International Musical Festival is the biggest cultural and art event in the country.

Held from 27 July to 8 August, the event hosts a range of different local and international performers in different parts of the Palestinian territories.

Now, for the first time since 1993, the festival has hosted events in the isolated Gaza Strip.

Although in past Hamas have been seen to take a hardlined stance against public music festivals, this year a number of events were held in the territory.
