Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra 'announces divorce' from husband via Instagram
The daughter of Dubai's ruler appears to have announced her divorce from her husband in an Instagram post.
Princess Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum posted on Tuesday: "Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce.
"I divorce, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife."
The repetition was a reference to an Islamic practice in which a man can divorce a woman by stating the intention verbally three times.
The princess appeared to have deleted all pictures of her husband, Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana al-Maktoum, from her Instagram account.

The two married in April last year and had their first child earlier this year.
Mana bin Mohammed has not publicly commented on the matter. He also deleted all posts together with the princess from his official Instagram account, and the two have unfollowed each other.
Mana is an entrepreneur, with business interests in the real estate and tech industries.
His Instagram includes pictures with several famous figures, including footballer Ronaldinho and notorious self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate.
There has been no further official comment from any members of the Dubai royal family on the apparent divorce.
Middle East Eye has reached out to the UAE embassy in London for comment.
Princess Mahra is the daughter of Dubai ruler and UAE Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid.
In 2022, a British judge ruled that the UAE premier abused his ex-wife, Jordan's Princess Haya bint al-Hussein. Before that, a London court had ruled that he had kept two of his daughters from another marriage captive after organising their kidnapping.
