France calls for restraint after attack on Syrian Druze village

France has condemned the rocket attack in the Syrian Druze village of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, and called on all parties to exercise restraint.

"France condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack which hit the Druze community in Majdal Shams," the French foreign ministry said a statement on Sunday.

"France demands that everything possible be done to avoid a new military escalation and we will continue work with the relevant parties on this."

Paris added it was continuing to advise its citizens not to go to Lebanon, Israel or the occupied Palestinian territories.
