A video of a tornado hitting a refugee camp near Mosul appears to show a child’s frame being thrown through the air by the strong winds.

The video, widely shared on social media, shows tents being ripped from the ground in the winds and other objects flying through the air.

Al-Salamiyah refugee camp, located some 30 kilometres south of Mosul, was opened in May, with a total capacity of 30,000 individuals.

The camp was set up in response to the surge in the number of displaced Iraqis fleeing the most recent military offensive in Mosul.
