Palestinians have been protesting in Gaza and the West Bank since 30 March in demonstrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Nakba ("Catastrophe") of Israel's birth and the expulsion of more than 700,000 refugees.
More than 130 Palestinians have been killed mostly by Israeli sniper fire aimed at demonstrators, but also targeting journalists covering the story and medics treating the thousands of injured protesters.
In pictures and a moveable timeline, this is how the protests have unfolded over the last 11 weeks.
