Israeli missiles hit 'arms depot' near Damascus airport: Reports
Syrian TV said late on Monday night that two Israeli missiles fell in the vicinity of Damascus international airport, without giving further details.
In a report in the early hours of Tuesday, Syria's state news agency said "two Israeli missiles came down near Damascus international airport".
Israel has not responded to the allegations.
The head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, also told AFP that "the Israeli missiles hit arms depots for Hezbollah near the airport".
He said the air strike took place at 1am local time "without causing huge explosions" even though they hit the weapons stores.
The monitoring group added that the Syrian air defence "failed to intercept the missiles".
Israel has periodically fired missiles into Syria in recent months. In May, at least 15 pro-government fighters were killed by an Israeli missile strike near Damascus, according to the Observatory.
A 9 April strike killed seven Iranian military personnel at a Syrian airbase. Iran blamed Israel for that strike and vowed to retaliate.
