Palestinians in Gaza find themselves surrounded by water puddles following rainfall ahead of winter
(MEE/Mohammed Asad)

As winter approaches the Gaza Strip, residents of the besieged Palestinian territory find themselves surrounded by water puddles following rainfall.

They seek to find comfort in the warmth provided by fire in front of their houses, which were destroyed during Israel's 50-day military offensive Operation Protective Edge.

Many of those residents spend their day inside or in front of their ravished houses, some of which have missing walls or windows, but return to sleep in shelters at night.

Residents are expecting worse days to come when the cruel winter arrives, with its abundance of rain and fierce wind.
