Bill Frelick
Bill Frelick is the director of Human Rights Watch’s Refugee Rights Program and the author of Our Homes Are Not for Strangers’: Mass Evictions of Syrian Refugees by Lebanese Municipalities. Since 2005, he has directed Human Rights Watch’s work relating to human rights abuses against refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons, and advocates for the rights of forcibly displaced persons worldwide. From 2002-2005, Mr. Frelick was the director of Amnesty International USA’s Refugee Program. He was also previously the director of the U.S. Committee for Refugees, which he served for 18 years (1984-2002). He has traveled to refugee sites throughout the world and is widely published. He was the editor of USCR’s annual World Refugee Survey.
