Sam Berkson
Sam Berkson is a poet, writer, radio host, teacher and activist. Since 2012, he has conducted a number of visits to the Western Saharan refugee camps near Tindouf, Algeria, meeting with poets and working with local translators. With Influx Press, he published a book of translations and original compositions from the camps in 2015, containing the first published English translations of Saharawi poems. He has published a further book of poems with Influx Press, a pamphlet with Fishbar Gallery of poems around Dalston's Ridley Road Market and composed the text of the award-winning photobook, Dalston Anatomy.
