Wladimir van Wilgenburg is a freelance journalist and the co-author of the recently published book Accidental Allies: The US–Syrian Democratic Forces Partnership Against the Islamic State. He is currently reporting from Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
