Eyewitness: Egypt's forgotten prisoners

Ramy Shaath was locked up for two and a half years by Egyptian authorities, and saw firsthand the level of violence and repression inflicted on thousands of political detainees. Now he is ready to 'tell the truth'.

The prominent activist and pro-Palestine advocate was forced to give up his Egyptian citizenship in order to be released, but he says he cannot forget those still languishing in prison without legal representation, fair trial or hope of release.
