Eyewitness: Yemeni journalist details horrific torture in Houthi prisons

“The worst of the torture was the use of electricity, hitting with cables and electric wires and pulling off my nails.”

Yemeni journalist and political activist Hamza al-Jubeihi details the severe physical and mental torture he suffered during his five years in Houthi prisons.

He was arrested for his articles and social media posts against the Yemeni rebel group who captured the capital Sanaa in 2014.

Eleven journalists are still incarcerated in Houthi jails, four of them are on death row.
