At least 41 killed in coal mine blast in Turkey

An explosion inside a coal mine in northern Turkey has killed at least 41 people and left 28 others hospitalised, state news media reported on Saturday. The explosion took place in the Black Sea town of Amasra in Bartin province on Friday, trapping dozens beneath the rubble of the blast.

In 2014, 301 workers were killed in Turkey 's worst ever mining disaster in the western town of Soma, 350 kms [217 miles] south of Istanbul.
