Maher al-Akhras ends his hunger strike

Palestinian Maher al-Akhras, who has been detained several times by the Israeli authorities, has ended 103 days of being on hunger strike, which he started at the beginning of his latest period of detention on 27 July.
Akhras agreed to end his strike after the authorities promised not to extend his detention beyond the original date set for later this month.
