Runners take part in 250km 'Marathon of the Sands' in the Moroccan desert

More than 700 runners are taking part in the six-day ultramarathon across the Merzouga desert in Morocco. The 250km trail is approximately the distance of six regular marathons and is regarded as the toughest foot race in the world, with the longest single stage being 91km.
