Who was Ahmed Yasin, the founder of Hamas?

Ahmed Yasin was the founder of Hamas, a Palestinian group he founded in 1987, as the first “intifada” against Israeli occupation began.

In 2004, Yasin was assassinated in an Israeli air strike but for many, his legacy remains influential to Palestinian resistance.
