90 Seconds: Impact of 'Brexit' on the Middle East and UK foreign policy

Polls have remained tight in the run-up to the vote, the first on the EU since 1975

With less than 48 hours to go before polls open in the UK to decide whether the country remains part of the European Union, political leaders across the globe are preparing to deal with the fallout if Britain decides to exit the EU, a scenario the media have termed "Brexit."

The impact of a Brexit on the Middle East is not necessarily obvious - many of the relationships built between the UK and Middle Eastern countries pre-date the EU by several decades, stretching back to colonial times.

A potential domino effect could be realised if Brexit leads to other European countries, many of whom have Eurosceptic movements, leaving the EU - possibly leading to the collapse of the entire body.
