Israeli tanks fired towards Palestinian homes in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday afternoon, reports Anadolu.

There were no reports of injuries or damage to property in the shelling, which Palestine’s Interior Ministry has called “a fresh violation of the ceasefire.”

In the West Bank, at least 40 Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers, as the army tried to disperse marches called in cities throughout the territory in solidarity with Gaza.

At least ten Palestinians were injured by live ammunition fired by Israeli troops in Hebron's Bab al-Zawiya district, while 25 others sustained birdshot wounds, according to eyewitnesses who spoke to Anadolu.

Ayyad Hamad, a photographer with the Associated Press, was reportedly arrested while covering the Hebron protests.

Clashes were also seen in Nablus, Ramallah and Bethlehem, where five Palestinians were injured by Israeli troops.

A 15-year old in Ramallah was arrested after being injured by live ammunition, reported the Palestinian Information Centre.

There were also allegations that Palestinian Authority forces, under the leadership of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, had used excessive force to disperse demonstrations in the West Bank, where they hold sway.

The demonstrations were called by Hamas groups in the West Bank in solidarity with the Gaza Strip.

Protestors chanted pro-resistance slogans and carried Hamas banners along with Palestinian flags.
