The Yemeni government submitted its development programme for 2015 to members of Yemen’s parliament on Monday.

Parliament speakers criticised the programme, and expressed that the agenda for the year 2015 should primarily focus on restoring security and stability.

The newly-formed government of technocrats is expected to resuscitate Yemen’s economy and provide more job opportunities.

In 2014, the rate of poverty passed the half-century mark with more than half the population living in poverty.

Political experts believe that poverty and unemployment will continue to increase if the government fails to regain security.

Just hours before Monday’s parliament meeting, three bombs exploded in residential areas near the houses of Houthi opposition group officials in Sana'a, the capital.
