A Palestinian stabbed and lightly wounded an Israeli in Jerusalem on Monday before being arrested by security forces, police and medics said.
The attack took place on Haneviim Street, a short distance from the Old City.
Police said the perpetrator, a Palestinian man in his 20s from the occupied West Bank, was seen by officers "stabbing a Jew and fleeing," discarding the knife nearby.
The officers ran and "caught the terrorist, subdued and arrested him," a police statement said.
Medics said the victim, a man in his late 20s, was being treated for light stab wounds to his shoulder.
There has been a wave of Palestinian attacks targeting Israeli civilians and security forces, primarily in annexed east Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.
Since October last year, 204 Palestinians and 28 Israelis have been killed, according to an AFP count.
Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, Israeli authorities say.
On Tuesday, two elderly Israeli women were stabbed and moderately wounded by suspected Palestinians who have not been apprehended.
