One year on from the coup which ejected the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi from power, Egyptians are still tense and uncertain about the country's future. Some have seen the ouster of Morsi - and the rise to power of former military man Abdel Fatah al-Sisi - as a positive step for the country, restoring stability and allowing fast action to restore the country's fortunes.
Others have lamented the numerous human rights abuses and the suppression of free speech.
Journalist Sergi Cabeza has been in the country to find out the mood of a seemingly divided nation:
