A paramedic from rebel-held Idlib in northwest Syria rushed to save wounded children following a pro-government air strike on the bombed-out stronghold on Tuesday, only to discover they were his.
Mazen Kashour, an ambulance driver in the deadliest place on earth, sped to the scene of carnage to attend to the wounded.
Upon his arrival, Kashour discovered that his two sons and his daughter were among the casualties.
A suspected Russian air strike on Idlib on Tuesday killed at least 25 civilians, while pro-government air raids on Sunday killed at least 73 people in the province, including 38 in the city of Maarat al-Numan, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
