Soraya Tamr, a volunteer with the Syrian Civil Defence (White Helmets), shares her account of the catastrophic earthquake that struck northwest Syria.
From the initial moments of the disaster, Tamr was quick to take action and attend to the needs of the affected civilians. With bravery and compassion, she tirelessly worked towards rescuing those trapped under the debris. Soraya recounts the heartbreaking stories of the people's lives she came across while conducting the search operations.
She is still involved in the response efforts of the shelter centres in the region.
