Clashes between Syrians and Lebanese in Germany
Violent clashes broke out between Syrians and Lebanese in several cities in Germany, forcing a heavy police intervention, according to a report published by the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper.
The clashes in North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday resulted in the injury of a police officer, while German police continue to investigate detainees in three different cities.
Police investigations show that a conflict broke out the night before in Essen between groups affiliated with large clans in Syria and Lebanon, fighting with knives, leaving a 23-year-old Syrian dead.

Some German sources said some of those involved were drug addicts or traffickers, while the clans also face accusations of defrauding the state and obtaining aid in large sums.
Throughout Friday night, skirmishes between the two sides did not subside, with dozens arrested, after a number of injuries occurred, including several critical ones. Syrian and Lebanese shops were also attacked.
The responsible public prosecutor, Carsten Dompere, confirmed that an investigation is underway to confirm the cause of the sudden conflict.
Jordan calls on the world to stop Israeli attacks
Jordan called on the international community to "take immediate and effective action to stop the Israeli aggression and provide protection for the Palestinian people," according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published by the Jordanian News Agency, Petra.
The ministry condemned the Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the latest of which was a deadly raid on the city of Jenin on Monday morning, warning of the continuation of the cycle of violence.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Sinan Majali, stressed the need to stop the continuous incursions into Palestinian cities, protect them from repeated attacks, and stop the escalation that constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and Israel's obligations as the occupying power.
Majali affirmed Jordan's position in rejecting these unilateral measures that undermine efforts to reduce escalation, stressing the need for the international community to move immediately and stop the aggression, and to provide protection for the Palestinian people in all the occupied territories.
Food crisis in Sudan
Thousands of Sudanese in the capital, Khartoum, have resorted to standing in long lines that last for hours in order to obtain food, as the crisis in the country escalates amid fierce fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to a report published by the Saudi newspaper, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.
Hundreds, perhaps thousands, go daily to mosques in Khartoum to eat food that they could not afford to buy, while some citizens carry a bowl to take food to their homes.
The state in Sudan stopped paying salaries to its employees more than two months ago, and banking applications have also stopped.
Employees and workers found themselves unemployed after the war disrupted their work and caused them to lose their property.
The Sheikh Sarhan Mosque is among the five mosques in which food is prepared with popular meals, with young workers preparing enough food for hundreds of citizens.
