A plot to assassinate the former President of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, was foiled after a security team found a secret tunnel under his compound which is believed to have been dug by those planning to kill him.
Saleh's personal secretary said the tunnel led to a mosque where he prays. The tunnel allegedly was going to be used to assassinate Saleh during Friday Prayers.
The tunnel is estimated to have taken four months to complete.
