Israeli forces kill three Palestinians in separate incidents in occupied West Bank
Three Palestinians were killed in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, with one man shot dead by Israeli forces near Bethlehem after two others were killed in Jenin during an early morning arrest raid.
Ammar Abu Afifa, a university student from Hebron's al-Arroub refugee camp, was shot by Israeli soldiers at the entrance of Beit Fajjar village south of Bethlehem, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
Israel's Army Radio said he was throwing rocks at soldiers and continued to do so after they fired warning shots, according to Reuters. The Israeli army did not immediately comment when asked by AFP.
Meanwhile, Abdullah al-Hosari, 22, and Shadi Khaled Najm, 18, died from gunshot wounds to the head after Israeli forces entered the Jenin refugee camp in vehicles with Palestinian licence plates to make an arrest.
"After the arrest of the suspect, as the forces left the house, heavy fire was opened from several directions, and undercover forces operating at the scene responded with live fire," Israel security forces said.
Troops arrested Imad Jamal Abu al-Heija, a freed prisoner, Wafa reported.
The news agency said the killing of the two Palestinians sparked a "massive and angry march" in Jenin.
The arrest raid is one of several recent high-profile Israeli incursions into West Bank cities.
Last month, in a daylight raid in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli forces killed three Palestinians suspected of carrying out shooting attacks against Israeli targets.
